Do you make exceptions to your policies?
No, we do not make any exceptions. Holding firm on our policies enables us to offer a consistent standard of service to all our guests and ensure we treat everyone equally and fairly.
Do we need a reservation?
While we do leave limited bar seating and outdoor seating for those that choose to walk-in on the night, a reservation is the only way we can guarantee availability and we strongly encourage you to make one. You can make a reservation here.
How long do we have the table for?
All bookings are designed for a strict two-hour sitting only. The table will be rebooked after this time.
What is the cancellation policy?
San Telmo requires notification of cancellation 24 hours in advance, for any reason. Failure to provide adequate notice, regardless of reason, will result in a $50 per person cancellation fee. Bookings that do not show up or contact the venue will be cancelled after 15 minutes and will incur a $50 per person ‘no show’ fee.
Do you do takeaway?
Sorry! We do not offer takeaway.
What is your dress code?
Generally, most diners dress smart casual, however we do not enforce a dress code and just want you to be comfortable.
Can we sit in a booth?
Our round marble tables are generally reserved for parties of 4+, and while we always do our best to accommodate requests of this nature, we cannot give any guarantee of where you will be seated on the night.
Why can’t I book for 7pm?
To ensure as many of you have the opportunity to dine with us as possible, we do have 2 seatings. This means we take very limited reservations between 6:45pm and 7:45pm and these spots tend to book out very far in advance.
Is outside covered/heated?
Our outdoor seating area is covered on one side with an awning, there are umbrellas and we do have gas heaters. However, in the event of very bad weather, we cannot guarantee protection from the elements and there is no indoor contingency. If you do need to cancel an outdoor booking due to weather conditions, we are flexible with the cancellation fee.
Where is the nearest parking to San Telmo?
The nearest parking is First Parking, located at 34/60 Little Collins St.
Does San Telmo cater to dietary requirements?
We can cater to most mainstream dietary requirements. However, we are not a 100% allergen free kitchen. On rare occasions cross-contamination could occur, and our restaurant is unable to guarantee that any item can be completely free of traces. Patrons are encouraged to consider this information in light of their individual requirements and needs. We encourage you to please contact the restaurant directly to ensure your needs can be met.
Is San Telmo able to cater for Halal?
All O'Connor's Beef is produced by Halal approved butchers, however our cooking process may not meet your preferences. San Telmo has one charcoal grill where all cooking takes place, including non-Halal-approved products. Please contact the restaurant in advance for further details regarding your booking and preparation options.
Can San Telmo cater for Vegetarian or Vegan guests?
Yes! We can cater for vegetarians and vegans, however our menu is largely meat focussed and may limit your options.
What is the maximum party size you can accommodate?
12 guests comfortably, 14 guests at a squeeze. For large event enquiries, please contact the restaurant directly.
Can we split our larger group across more than one table?
We do not allow parties to be split across more than one table.
Are parties of 8 or more required to dine from a set menu or can they dine from the A la carte menu?
All parties of 8 guests or more will be required to dine from a set menu. You can view our set menu options here.
Do you split bills?
We are more than happy to split a bill down the middle between 2 cards. If your guests were wanting to pay separately, we can provide an itemised receipt and encourage you to bring cash on the night.
Are children allowed at San Telmo?
While children are welcome to dine at San Telmo, please be aware that we do not offer a children’s menu, nor do we provide highchairs and changing facilities. You are welcome to bring your own highchair, pram or booster seat. If you elect to do so, we kindly request that you let us know in advance, so we can ensure you have adequate space.
We are a group of 8 however some of the guests are children. Do we still need to dine from a set menu?
Yes, all guests are considered ‘dining guests’ and will contribute to the total party size. However, children ages 12 years and younger are free to dine a la carte.
Can I bring a cake? Do you offer cakes?
You are welcome to bring your own cake. There is a $10pp cakeage fee, however this is waived should the party dine from a set menu. San Telmo does not provide birthday cakes, however if you order one of our desserts and make it known to us that you are celebrating a birthday, we will endeavour to celebrate the occasion with a sparkler to make it special.
Can I bring my own wine?
We are not a licensed BYO venue and unfortunately do not offer corkage.
Does San Telmo offer drinks packages?
No, we do not offer a drinks package, however we are more than happy to assist you in curating a reduced beverage list that suits your preferences.
What surcharges apply?
A 10% surcharge is applied to all food and beverage on weekends and a 15% surcharge on public holidays. All bookings of 8 or more will incur a 5% service charge to the final total of the bill.
